How to Prepare for a Great University

Parents everywhere agree they want what is best for their child and his/her future. This future almost always includes your child attending a great university. So the question remains: how do you prepare your child for a great school?

Students really begin the college admissions process as soon as he/she enters high school because that is when colleges begin when they look at a student’s resume and grade point average. However, if a student starts off a little rough there is always time to improve. Elite Private Tutors is there to help! Our tutors are trained to make sure your child improves in any subject and in turn, raising that GPA. If your child is not too overwhelmed, signing up for leadership opportunities in school can always brighten up a resume. Usually, Freshman year for most students should involve adjusting to a heavier workload and maintaining a good GPA.

It is not until 10th grade that students can really begin to make important strides to get into a good school. At this point in school, your child should begin to build relationships with teachers and college counselor to ensure a thoughtful recommendation. In October of 10th grade, students will take the PSAT. If he/she does well can give him/her a good first step to make that resume standout.

Furthermore, in January, you and your child should begin looking into opportunities to enrich his/her resume through applying for summer activities and programs. A great university wants to see that your child is not only smart, but has a diverse set of experiences that will build his/her character.
