3 Tips to Make the Most of Thanksgiving Break
Thanksgiving Break is here once again – a long-awaited and much needed reprieve from the struggles of school. However, don’t push academics out of your mind quite yet. With the final countdown to exams beginning after the break, these three tips will help you make the most of Thanksgiving Break to power through the last stretch.
- Get Some Sleep.
This first piece of advice was probably already in your vacation schedule. School can be stressful, and many students don’t get the rest they need as end-of-year projects and studying build up. Use the long weekend to get good, restful nights of sleep so that you’re refreshed and prepared when school resumes.
- Focus on Non-Academic Goals.
Use the bulk of your break time for non-academic priorities. If you’ve been meaning to clean your room, read a book, or play your new video game, maximize this opportunity. The next few weeks will be hectic and finals will be your top priority. Using the break for hobbies will give your mind rest while putting your time to good use.
- Don’t Forget about Finals!
Resist the temptation to ignore all your projects and finals until Monday, and you’ll be thanking yourself when it’s crunch time. You don’t need to sacrifice all of your break, but spend at least one hour each day reading, planning, reviewing or studying. When school resumes, you will have a strong head start on finals.
Thanksgiving Break is your final respite from school before the last push through finals. Prioritize rest and hobbies while laying some groundwork for the end of the semester, and you will be revitalized to tackle the end of the semester.
