How To End Your Senior Semester Strong

Hi second semester seniors! I know this is an exciting time, but remember, there are still some things that we need to take care of before you can receive your diploma! We have created a quick calendar to make sure you are ready to walk across that stage!

January: Have your high school send your midyear reports to your
applied colleges that require it. It is very important to have a complete application to be considered! Have your parents get started on FAFSA and your CSS profile if you are applying for financial aid as well. Every dollar counts!

Febuary: Colleges will still be checking up on your grades, even if you have already gotten in… no school wants a student that doesn’t finish strong! Contact your schools to make sure that they have received all your application materials. Lastly, if you are planning to take AP exams for college credit, don’t forget to register.

March: Keep your grades up and enjoy the last few months of your senior year. When acceptance letters start to trickle in, read them carefully before making your final decision. You are welcome to talk to your elite private tutor about their college decision at Rice, and what to expect at different schools.

April: Take time to consider your college options and discuss them with your tutor and family. Visit the schools, make pros and cons lists, contact any current students, read reviews on various majors etc. before making your final decision. Remember to mail in your enrollment forms by the deadline (May 1st for most schools), and tell the other schools that you will not be attending.

May: Get ready to graduate!! In the midst of all the excitement, don’t let your grades slip and remember to study for those final exams. Work hard on your AP exams, and send your scores to the college you will be attending. They are free to send if you designate your college on each test otherwise you will have to pay later on. Remember that AP tests are super important to help ease your load
in college, so stay focused! Make sure to check if your college needs SAT II tests as these will be due soon!

Congratulations and good luck seniors! If you are struggling with your senior year course load, don’t be embarrassed to contact an Elite Private Tutor. It is crucial that you don’t let your grades fall this last semester. Even though you are finishing this chapter in your life remember to start the next one off strong with great AP test scores.
